5 Affordable Ethical Dresses for The Minimalist
Looking to put into your closet a new ethical dress? We curated a list of inexpensive sturdy dresses that are ideal for the minimalist wardrobe. Any of these clothing here is less than $100, and they’re made from eco friendly materials. These are generally solid colours to quickly apply to a capsule wardrobe, but you can also find some neutral prints. We love versatile skirts, which can be dressed or dressed comfortably, depending on where you go.
And before I get into this article… Something I gotta get off my mind.
I got this Pinterest comment:
“None of these actually are “affordable” €128 for a dress I can purchase for $25″
I’m sure any of you read this may say the same thing… BUT if you spend $25 for a dress, just remember that someone’s being exploited – and inexpensive things (such as a quick fashion dress in Target) just keep up inequality. If you want to insure that the farmer and the maker get a reasonable wage, just $25 for a dress is unheard of. It’s not possible! $40 would be the least costly thing you could find in an ethical brand, and that would be quite simple. The thing is, if you can’t spend $128 on a quality ethical dress which lasts years and years, you can buy a dress which is seconed-hand. Don’t go to a short fashion store or Target because you want to spend less. Fashion shouldn’t be cheap! There are people behind your outfits, and they deserve to pay a decent salary for their jobs <3
CAMILA SHIRT DRESS
I love a good chambray shirt, and this one is so sweet with its lowered shoulders and elasticated ties!
“This dress looks soft and airy in a light weaved organic cotton chambray. It has an elasticated waist with a tie for flattering the figure, plus useful side seam pockets.”
CHAMBRAY IKAT SHIFT DRESS
This exquisite dress is made of hand crafted Ikat cloth. I love to print threads and to flatter the tail the cotton belt. Moreover, it’s got pockets!! By buying this outfit, you can provide artisans in Bangalore, India, with a respectable job with decent wages and a good working atmosphere.
CHRYSALIS CARDI
This attire is too cool!
“Cardi can be constructed in 8+ forms. From a warm cocoon car to a chic Grecian tunic, glamorous one-shoulder robes to a poncho. Find out all the places to find it and make it your own! The secret? The secret? Heavy metal snaps, hand-sewn, concealed around the gauze that ties the look together.”
DYRI DRESS
I really love this button’s colour! It is so flexible, too, because you can open it quickly and wear leggings or jeans, or a slim, tailored belt dress!
The Dyri dress is a textured fabric manufactured in a fair trade factory that is accredited and comes in two different shades, besides this magnificent yellow – navy and pink!
GINGHAM LINEN UTILITY DRESS
I’m loving Frank & Oak’s latest outfit!
It can be worn belted or unbelted and looks adorable in both directions.
It’s a super classic dress that you can wear any season. Pair it in the winter with some tights!
